Purple people
The non-imposing warmth of the people is exceptional. I feel guilty for my initial guardedness in the face of this genuine hospitality, but it isn't that difficult to adapt to. I think at heart anyone would like to be able to be so content and at ease with others, reminiscent of the image I get when people talk of London a few decades ago, where people could leave their front doors unlocked. I think it would be helpful to London's current atmosphere if we adopted this again.

Recently a new friend of mine spent some time in Madrid and he couldnt stop saying how great it was to feel off guard in a street situation. I suppose in the end he will move away from his present location. At least that is the way I would deal with it.
Nice to read your adventures
